Symposium: “For Their Own Good?” Children in the Adult Criminal Justice System

The Center for Children, Law & Policy at the University of Houston Law Center and the ACLU of Texas are proud to host a legal symposium and community forum entitled “FOR THEIR OWN GOOD?” CHILDREN IN THE ADULT CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.

Where:  University of Houston Law Center, Krost Hall, 100 Law Center, Houston, TX 77204

Panelists will be discussing various sides of the issues confronting children that are certified to stand trial as adults.  Speakers include the Honorable Beverly Malazzo of the Harris County Juvenile District Courts, the Honorable Mike Schneider of the 315th Juvenile District Court of Harris County, Professor Ellen Marrus of the Center for Children, Law & Policy, pro bono attorney Christine Wood, Lisa Graybill of the ACLU of Texas, and Chris Vogel of the Houston Press.
